Current Challenges

Winter Challenge

Okay, maybe the coldest month of the year is February, I am no meteorologist!

This Challenge scares me…I don’t normally work out 7 days a week! But here is the best part, it does not have to be a full-blown RUN everyday!
Here are some fun ways to break it up:
Run on your lunch break
Park 500 meters away from your work and jog to and from your car
Run immediately after work even before you get to your car
Put your kid(s) in a sled and run around the block
Go sledding and instead of walking up the hill, jog it! Hill runs, in the snow ;)
Run with your dog instead of walking
Go for a snowshoe run!
When heading out shopping or to do errands, park as far away as you can from the door and run there
…slowly running out of ideas…
Just run! have fun with it!!

My goal is on my off days to run at least 1 km, most likely at lunch or immediately after work!

You know what, it isn’t so bad being out doing stuff in the winter. I don’t run any more, but I ride my bike year ’round here in Chicago. It’s very gratifying to not let the weather determine your activity.

      Isn’t it!?
I rode my bike one winter when my car broke down! Sir, you have guts!! I was so terrified of slipping and falling on the road! =)

To be honest, I ride on the Chicago Lakefront not in traffic. I also don’t ride on snow or ice. Chicago currently has over 300 days without an inch of snow which is a record. I can handle cold.

Ahhhh, okay! Maybe I should move to Chicago!
I was riding in 3 feet of snow, of course shoveled off to the sides…but down a very sketchy street in a shady area downtown!…at 430am in the morning!
