Battling the Christmas Bulge

There are around 5 weeks until Christmas day, this means that retail stores are starting to play round the clock Christmas music and most likely your coworkers are starting to bring the Christmas treats into the staff room. Temptation is going to be everywhere soon enough!!!

In my life, it is especially bad. There are multiple birthdays that are celebrated during the month of December! For me, those encompass a lot of all you can eat food and all you can drink booze.

I can already feel the weight coming on to be honest, so its time to hold myself accountable for my waistline and report back to the blog with measurements!

I found this great article with some fabulous tips!

Stay trim but don’t forget to…

  1. Choose your booze: go for spritzers or wine above calorific cocktails or hefty beers.
  2. Flick the pie: flick off the top of your mince pie and you lose a third of its 240 calories
  3. Observe the singe-handful rule (then stop) with nuts and crisps.
  4. Beware canapés: they can be horrifically lardy. Choose uncreamy non-pastry varieties, eat one or two, then just say no.
  5. Walk it off: shopping, trips to parties, the after dinner stroll – up your pace and you’ll burn off 200 calories in just half an hour.


I will measure my waistline tonight and try and keep it within an inch either way up until christmas. My ideal goal is to keep it the same, as I am pretty happy with maintaining my current weight!
